Have you ever found yourself stuck in a state of indecision or inaction, unsure of how to move from where you are to where you want to be?

Whether it’s in your career, relationships, or finances, the struggle to take action and make progress can be overwhelming. But there’s a NLP (Neurolinguistic programming) technique that can help you shift your mindset and get you moving in the right direction. It’s called the Lazarus Technique.

Let’s get into it.

What’s the Lazarus Technique?

The Lazarus Technique was developed by Arnold Lazarus and is a main technique of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

The idea of this technique is to move you from a general idea of what you want to a specific and actionable goal. It helps you define exactly what you want, why you want it, and, most importantly, how you can take actionable steps to achieve it.

The technique encourages clarity and focus by starting with a broad word or concept and progressively narrowing it down. From a vague goal like “freedom,” you can end up with a concrete action plan that brings you closer to your desired outcome.
