As a UX Content Strategist with over 10 years of experience, I’ve helped numerous businesses craft effective websites to better their user experience and increase sales.

What I consistently see are websites with terrible home pages.

The Grocery Store Metaphor

The homepage is essentially like walking into a physical grocery store. If your homepage is not organized in a way that is intuitive or navigable to users, it’s like being in said grocery store with no clear signs or labeled isles.

Imagine you are in a physical grocery store and there are no signs and the aisles are full of random products and you can find what you need. So, you wander around looking for help and finally find a sales associate, however, when you ask them for help, instead of answering your question they give you random facts about themselves.

How To Improve Your Homepage

Here are some tips to craft a better homepage and ensure it captures user attention, communicates business value clearly, and guides users to take action.
